GLOSSARY LETTER
"Appraisal" (also called "Valuation") refers to the act of determining a Value for all or part of a company. This is usually done by an independent appraiser/Valuer, such as the Corporate Finance department of an Investment bank. Any asset can be Valued, and this may be needed in the context of insuring, buying/selling, contributing to a JV, or using as Collateral for a financing.
